All kiln-dried firewood is harvested and then dried to below 15% moisture content in a biomass-powered kiln. Our hardwood is easy to light and burns cleanly and slowly with good heat generation and a large flame. Why is our firewood different?
Well, for starters we don’t sell by weight because our firewood is kiln-dried to around 15% moisture content. Moisture content is most important as if we were to say the moisture content is at 45%, then each litre would weigh an extra 300g.
Selling by weight makes poor quality firewood look as though it is better value for money, when all the customers are really paying for is extra water content, which, in turn, creates smokey burns and corrodes appliances or fireplaces.
