Foxhill Firewood sells hardwood and firewood available for delivery in the Keston area.
We put our seasoned hardwood and firewood in stillages or in open piles in the sun for as long as we can, which we then finish off in the kiln. This provides a super dry product (i.e. around 15% MC or Moisture Content) with minimum usage of fuel for drying. The kiln is powered by logs too, usually tree surgery waste or wood that is of inferior quality to the sales product.
The other advantages to very dry wood are that there is less smoke, higher heat output, less ash, less corrosion to metal flues or expensive appliances and less pollution due to better cracking of the wood gases.
